In a 2022 interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, Dolly Parton was asked about her wish to have Beyoncé cover her classic song "Jolene."

"I don't know if she's even got the message, but wouldn't that be killer?" Parton says in the interview. "I would just love to hear 'Jolene' done in just a big way, kind of like how Whitney [Houston] did my 'I Will Always Love You.' Just someone that can take my little songs and make them powerhouses."

Well, she got her wish. Dolly Parton also had some high praise for the COWBOY CARTER singer.

"Wow, I just heard Jolene," Dolly shared. "Beyoncé is giving that girl some trouble and she deserves it! Love, Dolly P."

Listen to “JOLENE” below.

Beyoncé's album COWBOY CARTER was released on March 29, 2024. Dolly appeared on the track preceding “JOLENE,” “DOLLY P.”
