IAMHaile, who resides in North Carolina, is on a mission to spread hope and joy with his first release of the new decade.
The track, which has exploded onto the scene in recent weeks is the latest offering from the rapper who proves hope is all you need. True to his word, Haile has delivered here with a tight beat and rap performance which grabbed me and did not let go.
'Thank you' takes influence from the Bible, and he mentions this at several intervals within the track. It starts with talk of the Bible and IAMHaile expresses his message articulately. He indicates that he could have given up but stuck to his plan. Good on you IAMHaile!
It is a current release, and it would not sit out of place on your local hip hop station or even being played out on the main stage at Rolling Loud Festival. Furthermore, the rapper boasts a sharp sound, and I cannot find too many faults with his approach. Vocally, we hear a variance of techniques. His rapping is on point, but he lends himself as a remarkable singer also, which is always a highly sought after quality for any rapper to posses.
My only pet hate is that I wish the track had been longer. It sits at a relatively short length of 2minutes, and 20 and an extra rap verse would have finished it off pleasantly, in my opinion. But, does it get the message across? Yes. Does it fit well in the modern hip hop industry? Yes. Therefore, I cannot complain too much about the length. After all, short and sweet usually wins.
